With 140 watts per channel in stereo mode, 9 channels of amplification, and three-zone capability, 'A2030 has the power and flexibility to drive a robust home theater system that extends into as many as three rooms.

Multi-zone capability reaches into as many as four rooms

Yamaha's Intelligent Amp Assign provides outputs for up to 11 speakers, giving the ‘A2030 multi-room versatility to suit your home and equipment. You can power nine channels at a time with this receiver, or up to 11 when you add a separate stereo power amp or receiver. That means you can enjoy 5.2-channel surround in your home theater, while simultaneously powering stereo speakers in two other rooms.

The additional HDMI output offers lots of multi-zone capabilities that many multi-room receivers don't have. You can output audio or video from any source to Zone 2 via HDMI. Plus, Zone 2 HDMI switching means you can watch different content from different sources at the same time. Watch a Blu-ray disc in your main room while the kids watch their favorite show in another room. Or use the second HDMI output to send audio and video to an HDTV in a fourth room, while the receiver powers speakers in three other rooms.

Yamaha goes the extra mile for excellent sound in its AVENTAGE receivers. The RX-A2030 uses dual audiophile-grade ESS SABRE digital-to-analog converters, which decode the latest high-resolution audio formats with accuracy and detail. Your digital sources like Blu-ray discs and lossless music files will sparkle with definition and life in stereo and surround sound. Independent power supplies for analog and digital circuitry help prevent interference between the two, for purer audio signals. And the symmetrical power amp layout isolates the circuitry for the left and right channels, for a high signal-to-noise ratio and a wide soundstage for stereo music listening.

Apple AirPlay and other streaming music options

When you connect the 'A2030 to your home network, you'll open up a whole world of digital music. With built-in support for Apple AirPlay, you can send music from your iPhone®, iPad®, or computer running iTunes® directly to your receiver for playback. If you subscribe to Spotify® or Rhapsody®, you'll enjoy support for their massive song libraries as well. Plus you can stream music from Pandora® or tap into thousands of free radio stations worldwide via vTuner. Yamaha's Compressed Music Enhancer helps give MP3s and other digital music more depth and detail, as well as upconverting CDs and lossless FLAC files for high-resolution playback. AirPlay requires a wireless home network and a wired connection between the receiver and network or a wireless connection using the optional Yamaha Wi-Fi adapter.

If it's been a while since you last bought a receiver, then the 'A2030's setup and control features will be a welcome improvement. The on-screen guide is full-color with lots of graphics for easy navigation — a far cry from the bare-bones black-and-white menu screens of just a few years ago. Plus, the free Yamaha A/V Controller app provides sophisticated touchscreen control over a wide range of functions from your Apple® smartphone or tablet, Kindle Fire™, or other Android™ device.

4K, 3D, and MHL®-ready

The RX-A2030 is prepared to take on the latest and greatest digital sources. The front-panel HDMI input is MHL-compatible. That means you can connect your MHL-compatible Android tablet or smartphone to send music and HD video through your receiver for playback on your home theater system. Plus, the 'A2030 supports 3D and 4K pass-through, so it can handle today's 3D Blu-ray players and as well as upcoming Ultra HD content as it arrives.
